Withdrawal Procedures

All National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) applicants who receive a federally funded fee subsidy must notify NBPTS, DOE and their district immediately of withdrawal from the NBPTS certification program. In addition, the applicant forfeits the non-refundable $500 initial fee payment to the NBPTS. Included in the portfolio package is a NBPTS withdrawal form or it may be downloaded via nbpts.org. In the event of withdrawal, copies of this form should be sent to NBPTS, DOE, and the district.

There is no withdrawal fee associated with withdrawal but the withdrawal must be completed directly with National Board on or before the portfolio due date. Failure to properly withdraw by the deadline will result in the applicant being ineligible to receive federal funds in the future.
