Virtual Options
There are several options available to students in Florida when it comes to virtual education. School districts in Florida may provide at least one full-time and one part-time virtual instruction program option for their students. Additionally the statewide Florida Virtual School (FLVS) serves all districts throughout the state.

Description of Virtual Options
District Franchise of FLVS
(Full Time and Part Time)
Many school districts operate their own franchise of Florida Virtual School (FLVS). District administrators operate the franchise and district teachers provide the instruction. FLVS provides professional development and mentoring for district teachers and administrators; they also provide districts with the curriculum and numerous learning resources.
District Virtual Instruction Program (VIP)
(Full Time and Part Time)
School districts in Florida may offer full-time and part-time VIP options for students in grades Kindergarten-12. They may contract with an approved VIP using the provider’s teachers, or run their own district-operated VIP, using district teachers. List of approved virtual instruction program (VIP) providers
Florida Virtual School (FLVS)
(Full Time and Part Time)
A fully accredited, statewide public school district, FLVS offers more than 190 online courses to Kindergarten-12 students, and certified teachers use a variety of personalized instructional programs to create individualized educational plans for every student. Additional FLVS information.
Virtual Charter Schools
(Full Time and Part Time)
Virtual charter schools are authorized to provide full-time and part-time virtual instruction to district students in grades Kindergarten-12. Virtual Course Offerings
(Part Time)
