Florida State College at Jacksonville Visit

Jacksonville, Fla., July 22, 2025 – On July 22, 2025, Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas visited workforce programs at Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Cecil North and South campuses, including the Commercial Vehicle Driving Pad, Truck Driving Simulator, Aviation Mechanic training hangar, and student classrooms for Air Traffic Controllers and Professional Pilots. During the visit, Commissioner Kamoutsas also took a flight around Jacksonville in a flight simulator.

The Florida State College team also shared plans to expand workforce programs through partnerships with the City of Jacksonville and industry leaders, launching essential trades such as welding, electrical and advanced manufacturing. These career-focused programs provide hands-on, real-world training that prepare students to enter the workforce job-ready, supporting local industries, driving Florida’s economic growth, and empowering students to build strong and successful futures.
