Duval County Public Schools Visit
Jacksonville, Fla., August 22, 2025 – On August 22, 2025, Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas joined Duval County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Christopher Bernier, school board members, and district cabinet leaders for a day of collaboration and school visits.
The visit began at the Duval County Public Schools District Office with a leadership meeting focused on supporting students and strengthening academic achievement across the district. Commissioner Kamoutsas then traveled to San Jose Elementary School, where he met with students and staff and saw firsthand the programs driving success in early learning and literacy.
The morning concluded at Jean Ribault High School, where the Commissioner engaged with school leaders and students in a setting that reflects Duval’s commitment to preparing learners for both college and career opportunities.
Together, these visits showcased Duval County’s dedication to excellence in education and Florida’s mission to empower students with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to succeed.
