Eau Gallie High School and Sherwood Elementary School Visit
Viera, Fla., August 4, 2025 – Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas joined Brevard Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell, school board members and district leaders for a day of collaboration. Commissioner Kamoutsas also had the opportunity to visit Eau Gallie High School and Sherwood Elementary School.
At Eau Gallie High School’s Aviation Center, Commissioner Kamoutsas toured classrooms and an aircraft hangar where students gain hands-on training in aerospace technology and maintenance. Faculty and students highlighted the program’s role in preparing graduates for high-demand careers in Florida’s growing aviation and space industries.
Later in the afternoon, Commissioner Kamoutsas visited Sherwood Elementary School, a Title I school that has earned an “A” rating for two consecutive years. Students and staff proudly showcased Sherwood’s commitment to student success.
Together, these visits highlighted Brevard’s commitment to both innovative technical education and academic excellence, underscoring Florida’s mission to prepare every student for success in college, career and life.
