FAFSA Launch

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., August 13, 2025 -  Commissioner Kamoutsas joined U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn and nearly a thousand students and families for the historic early beta testing of the 2026-27 FAFSA form in Fort Lauderdale. The event marked the earliest successful launch of the FAFSA in history, giving students and families the opportunity to complete the form in real time and provide feedback on the new, streamlined process. This early testing allowed participants to experience the FAFSA firsthand, helping identify technical issues and suggest improvements before the public launch. By engaging nearly a thousand students and families, the event highlighted the nationwide effort to make the FAFSA more accessible, efficient and user-friendly for all students pursuing higher education.
