Broward County Public Schools Visit

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., August 7, 2025 – On August 7, 2025, Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas met with Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn and district leadership during a visit to Broward County Public Schools.

The Commissioner toured Atlantic Technical College, where he observed workforce training programs in welding and machining that prepare students for high-demand jobs. He also visited Rock Island Elementary School, meeting with school leaders and learning about the programs supporting student achievement.

The visit concluded with a leadership roundtable highlighting Broward County Public Schools’ recognition as an “A”-rated district, underscoring the district’s commitment to academic excellence, career readiness and student opportunity.
