Florida’s Students Shine at the 3rd Annual Florida College System Cybersecurity Competition

Tallahassee, Fla., November 6, 2025 – The 3rd Annual Florida College System (FCS) Cybersecurity Competition was held November 6, in Tallahassee, bringing together students from across the state to showcase their cybersecurity skills in a virtual cyber range simulating real-world challenges.

More than 65 students from 15 FCS institutions demonstrated creativity, teamwork, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate cyber threats, preparing them to defend Florida’s digital systems and launch careers as cyber professionals. Their determination and expertise highlight the essential role Florida’s colleges play in building a strong talent pipeline and supporting the next generation of leaders in one of the nation’s fastest-growing industries.

The time-based competition was conducted by Global Business Solutions, Inc., who determined the winners through an electronic ranking system that evaluated their ability to efficiently manage, operate and defend the network infrastructures of multiple simulated organizations. Congratulations to the winning teams:

  • 1st place: Palm Beach State College (PBSC Cyber Force)
  • 2nd place: Daytona State College (Falconsec)
  • 3rd place: St. Petersburg College (Titan Sec 1)

The event was made possible through the support of generous sponsors: Florida Department of Education, Florida College System Foundation, Florida Student Success Center, Capital City Wealth, Cyber Florida and Bill Cramer Chevrolet.

The competition is an initiative of the FCS Cybersecurity Collaborative, which unites cybersecurity leaders across FCS institutions to share best practices, strengthen workforce partnerships and increase opportunities for students.
