Commissioner Diaz and Secretary Davis Continue the Keep Florida’s Future Bright Initiative

Tallahassee, Fla., May 2, 2024 – Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr. and Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis continued the Keep Florida’s Future Bright Initiative at Hialeah Senior High School in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The initiative aims to inform students about the opportunities available through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program and bolster student participation. Students from 9th and 10th grades were given information on the eligibility requirements, scholarship tiers and various postsecondary programs that the Florida Bright Futures Scholarships can be applied to. This is the sixth school that Commissioner Diaz and Secretary Davis visited this year as part of an initiative to raise awareness about Florida Bright Futures Scholarships.

The Florida Bright Futures Program was established in 1997 and is fully funded by the Florida Lottery to reward Florida’s brightest high school students for their academic achievements.
