State Board of Education Members

Erika Fritz-Ochs is a public service leader with experience in program implementation, compliance oversight, and statewide operations. She currently serves as Director of Program Initiatives and Implementation at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, where she advances strategic priorities and supports cross-divisional execution.
Erika previously served as Engagement Manager for the New Worlds Reading Initiative, leading cross-functional coordination to ensure program impact, scalability, and long-term sustainability. Prior to that role, she held positions with the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Earlier in her career, she spent nine years as an educator, developing a strong commitment to ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education. In the classroom, she focused on strengthening student achievement, fostering high expectations, and using data-informed instruction to drive continuous improvement.
Erika holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, a Master of Science in Elementary Education, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
