District Workforce Education Funding Steering Committee

The District Workforce Education Funding Steering Committee is authorized in section 1011.80, Florida Statutes (F.S.), and provides recommendations for the district workload funding model. This is an annual funding calculation provided to the Legislature to inform decision making on the funding to be provided to school districts who offer the following types of workforce education programs:

  • Adult general education programs designed to improve the employability skills of the state’s workforce as defined in s. 1004.02(3).
  • Career certificate programs, as defined in s. 1004.02(20).
  • Applied technology diploma programs.
  • Degree career education program (if authorized pursuant to s. 1011.03(15), F.S.
  • Apprenticeship and preapprenticeship programs as defined in s. 446.021.
