Monitoring & Compliance
According to Title IV, Part B, Section 4201(a) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant’s purpose is to “provide opportunities for communities to establish or expand activities in community learning centers” by providing academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly in high-poverty and low-performing schools.
Federal and state laws and regulations require the department to monitor the implementation of state- and federally-funded programs to assure compliance with state and federal rules, regulations and the Request for Proposals/Applications to ensure that program objectives are being met. This monitoring is necessary so that all individuals receiving 21st CCLC services receive fair, equal and significant opportunities to obtain high quality educational and enrichment activities through the program.
