Family & Community Involvement Award
The Family and Community Involvement Award is presented annually to recognize and promote innovative school-based practices that increase family, community and school partnerships in Florida's K-12 Public Schools. School-level programs are awarded in one of two categories – Elementary (K-5) or Secondary (6-12), and evaluated on the impact of strategies that address the following:
- Removing barriers between school and family;
- Enhancing parenting skills;
- Building resiliency;
- Fostering communication between stakeholders;
- Promoting volunteerism, mentorship and citizenship;
- Improving student learning outcomes; and
- Strengthening partnerships within the community.
