Slide 1 Welcome to What is the Charter School Program (CSP) Grant Budget Tool. This tutorial provides general guidance to CSP sub-recipients regarding the CSP Grant Budget Tool. Slide 2 By the end of this tutorial, you will know what the budget tool is, the purpose of the budget tool, how often the budget tool must be used and how to access the budget tool. To enhance your experience, it is encouraged that you take a few minutes to review the Terms document that accompanies this video. When you have reviewed all of the terms, navigate to the next slide. Slide 3 The budget tool is an online web tool that allows CSP sub-recipients to track and report project award expenditures and inventory. Per federal and state regulations, the Charter Schools Program office must ensure internal control over compliance of all CSP Grant Projects (2 CFR 200.62). The budget tool will support the monitoring of reported expenditures. Slide 4 The purpose of the budget tool is to provide a streamlined method of communication between CSP sub-recipients and the program office regarding the use of project funds to ensure fiscal accountability of CSP Grant funds. Slide 5 Ideally, the budget tool should be used each time a CSP sub-recipient incurs an approved expense using CSP grant funds. At a minimum, CSP sub-recipients must utilize the budget tool monthly to report regular grant expenditures. Note that beginning with the 2016 CSP grant cohorts, all budget expenditures must be reported online via the budget tool. In addition, the program office will request monthly submissions of your school’s Itemized Expenditure Report. Should this report not be completed and received by the program office, your school will be considered non-compliant. Slide 6 To access the budget tool, go to www.flcsp.org. On the welcome page, enter your username and password. Once you are logged in, click on the Budgets tab in the top navigation bar. Once you see this screen, you have accessed the Budget Tool. If you are unable to access the budget tool, make sure the school’s Board Chair Contact information has been submitted on the Contact Information tab and that all Planning/Implementation Required Documents have been uploaded to the Documents section. You will have to wait for the program office to enter your budget items before expenditures may be reported in the Budget Tool. Slide 7 By now we’ve reviewed what is the budget tool, the purpose of the budget tool, how often the budget tool must be used and how to access the budget tool.
