Elementary Standards Progressions

The Florida mathematics standards progressively develop content each year. Concepts introduced in the primary grades become the foundation for new concepts in progressive years. The process introduces concrete concepts that become abstract ideas to further mathematical critical thinking. These documents are provided to use during planning for units of instruction. It is important to understand the standards of the grade level in which one is teaching as well as the progression of that standard: what students learned before and what they will be expected to learn in the future.
