Title: Farmworker Jobs and Education Program of Florida
Purpose: To provide education, skills training, supportive services, and job placement assistance to eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents. These services are provided that they may achieve economic self-sufficiency by obtaining employment outside of agriculture or upgrading their skills and stabilizing their employment in agriculture. Target Audience: Eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents. Authorization: Workforce Investment Act, Title I, Section 167 (National Programs) Grant Amount: PY’2001 (July 1, 2001 – June 30, 2002) is $4,631,415 Average Project Amount: $220,000 Eligible Applicants: Florida Department of Education approved projects.
