CTE Essential Skills

All curriculum frameworks for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Florida have had Essential Skills integrated into the content. Essential Skills are the knowledge and skills considered by industry to be essential for successful entry into careers across all career clusters. Students preparing for careers at any level should be able to demonstrate this knowledge and these skills in the context of their chosen cluster and career path.The resources below are intended to be of assistance to teachers when creating lesson plans for Essential Skills. Financial Literacy

  • Navigating Your Financial Future - This site can be a great source to identify representatives across Florida that teachers can call directly to help create a financial lesson plan or set up a time for a representative to come and speak to the class.
  • Money Management - This site is operated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and contains a wealth of resources relating to financial literacy.
  • Personal Financial Education - This site is operated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and offers a variety of FREE resources and training opportunities for teachers and students.
