Career Paths Program was established by the 2005 Florida Legislature to provide startup grants to offset planning and implementation costs to operate a career and professional academy.

All SUCCEED Florida career academy programs are partnerships between a district school board and one or more businesses, industries, or postsecondary educational institutions. Funded academies correlate directly with career and industry certifications with high-growth, high-demand, high-pay occupations and provide a rigorous and relevant standards-based academic curriculum through a career-based theme.

Funded projects are using their resources to do one of the following:

  • Plan and design a career academy for the 2007-08 school year for career paths
  • Implement a new career academy for career paths, manufacturing & Automotive, nursing & allied health, and teaching
  • Implement career academies that were planned and designed in the previous year for career paths, jobs for Florida's future, nursing, and teaching.
