Hillsborough County Principal Named American Heart Association's Principal of the Year
Karen Bass, principal of Mary E. Bryant Elementary School in Hillsborough County, has been named the American Heart Association's (AHA) Principal of the Year. Mrs. Bass was recognized for her unwavering support of the AHA's Jump Rope for Heart program at the school. Since the school opened in the 2003-2004 school year, students have raised $196,166. Mrs. Bass was selected from among the principals at 40,000 schools nationally that participate in the AHA's Jump Rope for Heart or Hoops for Heart programs.
