Future Educators of America Conference Promotes Education Careers

More than 400 Florida high school and college students recently attended the Florida Future Educators Conference in Orlando to learn about education as a career and to compete in competitions. The conference, emceed by Megan Allen, Florida’s 2010 Department of Education/Macy’s Teacher of the Year, offered informative and hands-on sessions led by Florida Teachers of the Year and other award winning Florida educators. Competitions included essay, speech, lesson plan, PowerPoint , public service announcement, display and spirit based on the student-selected theme of “To Teach a Child is to Change the World.”
