Florida State College at Jacksonville Garners Grant for Job Training
he Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) recently received a $2.2 million grant from the U.S. Dept. of Labor to train people for “green jobs.” The “Pathways Out of Poverty” grant, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, provides for training and job placement services within the energy efficient and renewable energy industries. The College will use the grant to fuel economic recovery in Florida by reaching out in the community for individuals who are unemployed, high school dropouts and ex-offenders.
