Brevard County Elementary School Scores Big
Virginia Hamilton, a teacher of gifted and academically talented students at Tropical Elementary School in Brevard County recently won the Oasis of the Seas Getaway contest sponsored by Good Morning America. Canine Commandos, a program Hamilton created seven years ago, was recognized for the school’s fifth and sixth grade students’ work in obedience training for dogs typically overlooked for adoption because of undesirable behaviors. As a result of the publicity from winning the contest, Hamilton was contacted by the Iams Company offering to partner with the program.
