Broward College Graduate Recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award
Susan B. Hassmiller, senior advisor of nursing at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, N.J., and a graduate of Broward College, has been named the recipient of the Florida Association of Community Colleges’ Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is one of three LeRoy Collins Distinguished Community College Alumni Awards presented annually. Hassmiller graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing degree in 1974 from what was then Broward Community College. She went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in health education from Florida State University. She then continued her educational pursuits by earning a second master’s degree in Community Health Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Ph.D. in Nursing Administration from George Mason University.
