Florida Middle School Places Third in National Science Competition
Congratulations to Abraham Lincoln Middle School for winning third place in the U.S. Department of Education National Science Bowl for designing, building, and racing its team’s hydrogen-fueled model car. Eighth-graders Keshav Vemuri, David Liu, and Emilie Song and seventh-graders Kyung-seok Oh and Robin Xu, represented the Alachua County school at the national competition, going up against 35 other states.
One of the featured events at the National Finals for middle school students is the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Model Car Challenge, which tests the creative engineering skills of many of the brightest math and science students in the nation as they gain hands-on experience in the automotive design process and with hydrogen fuel cell technology.
