Cape Coral Middle School Wins National Student Crew Contest
Gulf Middle School in Cape Coral, Fla., recently won a $2,000 shopping spree for books through the Fall 2008 National Student Crew Contest. Jeff Kinney, author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, will also visit the winning school as part of the prize package. The National Student Crew Contest encourages schools to plan and conduct successful book fair events and reading.
Students from Gulf Middle School transformed their media into a French restaurant in Paris with a banquet of books and centered around the theme of “La Readatouille,” a parody on the movie Ratatouille about a rat who loves to cook. The students created an Eiffel tower, and played French music to set the stage.
