Florida Teacher Receives Leavey Award for Excellence In Private Enterprise Education

William H. Turner Technical Arts High School teacher Cindy Thienard recently received the 2007 Leavey Award for Excellence In Private Enterprise Education for her “Ability Counts Project.”

The award, given by the The Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Foundation, is a cash award of $7,500 given to full time educators who have an innovative way of teaching America’s private enterprise system. Since the program’s inception in 1977, nearly $3 million have been distributed to educators in 45 states.
