Levy County Schools Foundation Raises $23,000 For Scholarships
Some students may be receiving financial scholarships from the Levy County Schools Foundation (LCSF). A recent LCSF Superintendent’s gala raised more than $23,000 in scholarship money for area students. Established in 1989, LCSF has raised money for scholarships and improvement projects such as the Chiefland High School Auditorium, Williston High School Auditorium, and others.
In 2006, LCSF awarded 49 students a combined total of $41,000 in scholarships. Students are helped through the Foundation’s efforts through its classroom grants as well.
In the 2005-06 school year, more than $8,000 was generated in classroom grants, and more than $15,000 has been raised for classroom grants throughout the history of the Foundation.
