Broward County Schools Receive Best Buy Teach Awards

Four Broward County schools received $2,500 Best Buy Teach Awards in recognition of their utilization of interactive technology in the learning process. Tamarac Elementary, Palm Cove Elementary, Margate Middle and South Plantation High School received the recognition for implementing a variety of technology-related initiatives into their daily curriculum.

Tamarac Elementary was also recognized with a $15,000 Best Buy Teach Award. Two hundred fifty finalists were chosen from the original 1,300 winners, based on the strengths of their applications and were invited to resubmit applications for the larger awards. Tamarac Elementary was one of 50 winners from across the nation and one of only three in Florida. The school, which collected awards totaling $17,500, received Best Buy Gift Cards valued at $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000.
