Lake Howell High School student Renee Clark is a recipient of the 2006 First Arts
Recognition Program Scholarship. Renee has been recognized for her achievement in the Visual Art discipline.
Florida's First Lady, Mrs. Columba Bush, has partnered with ACE (Arts
for a Complete Education) and FAAE (Florida Alliance for Arts Education) in
establishing the Arts Recognition Scholarship Program. Annually, the program
recognizes 24 high school seniors who have demonstrated exemplary talents in
music, media, theater and visual arts. The students are awarded $1,000 scholarships
to assist them in pursuing further studies in the Arts.
On March 31, 2006, Governor and Mrs. Bush will host a reception at the Governor's
Mansion for the scholarship recipients, their families and the teachers. At
this event, the students will be presented with their awards and there will
also be special recognition for their teachers in the discipline awarded.
Congratulations to Renee Clark and her teacher, Carol Mears, of Lake Howell
