Bayshore Business Academy Student Turns
"Career Day" Into Dream Job

Collins Lamb

Bayshore High School's Business Academy recently attended a Career Day sponsored by the St. Pete Times Forum designed to inform students of the many career possibilities available in sports entertainment. They spent the morning moving from station to station throughout the facility, learning about careers in sales, advertising, team operations, sports announcing, security, etc.

Senior Collins Lamb, a long-time hockey enthusiast, inquired about available positions and when he learned about a summer internship, he quickly submitted an application, had an interview, and was hired. An exciting aspect of this is that most of the employees who talked with the students that day indicated that they had obtained their positions after proving themselves during college internships. Collins is one step ahead of the game — he received his internship prior to college, and he hopes to continue the position while attending Keiser College in the fall where he plans to major in Business Administration. During his internship, Collins will be working with the sales and marketing team.
