FDACS Healthy School Teams
School districts must establish Healthy School Teams. A Healthy School Team is a resource in each school to help ensure the successful implementation of the school district's Local School Wellness Policy.

School Health Services, Florida Department of Health
Florida School Health Services are a public service provided to students in PreK through 12th grade. School health staff is composed mostly of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and health aides. This site includes contact lists, program descriptions, news articles, legislation, reports, and links.

Survey Data
The Division of Community Health Promotion's Public Health Research Unit plays a very important role in monitoring and evaluating health conditions and associated risk and protective factors among Floridians through several population-based surveillance systems.

Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Reports
This state-based telephone surveillance system is designed to collect data on individual risk behaviors and preventive health practices related to the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the United States. Information from the survey is used for health planning, program evaluation, and monitoring health objectives within the Department of Health. The target population of this survey is people 18 years and older who reside in Florida household.

The federal Coordinated School Health Program is administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Adolescent and School Health. This site includes the revised School Health Index, State-by-State information, and documents on special topics.
