About the Program
Effective October 1, 2011, in accordance with s. 20.60 F.S., all powers, duties, functions, records, pending issues, existing contracts - including this Contract - and unexpended balances of appropriations, allocations, and other funds relating to the Florida Ready to Work program within the Department of Education shall be transferred by a type two transfer, as defined in s. 20.06(2), F.S., to the Department of Economic Opportunity.Florida Ready to Work is an employee credentialing program that tests - and scores - job skills. It gives jobseekers a competitive edge - a Credential that proves to employers that they have the right skills for the job. For employers, it takes the guesswork out of hiring, saving time and money. Florida Ready to Work is sponsored by the state of Florida, so there is no cost for employers or jobseekers to participate in the program.
The Department of Economic Opportunity provides oversight for the program which is administered by Worldwide Interactive Network (WIN).
