First Lady Ann Scott's Statewide Literacy Tour Continues

~ First Lady will also recognize winners of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! public service announcement (PSA) contest ~

Tallahassee, Fla., January 15, 2014 - On Thursday, First Lady Ann Scott will continue her statewide literacy tour as a part of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! and will recognize the winners of the celebration's PSA contest. This year's theme, "Reading Accelerates Success," connects the value of literacy with careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). As part of the week's festivities, thousands of volunteers will read to children in classrooms throughout the state.

What: Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! Public Service Announcement Awards Ceremony

When: Thursday, January 16, 2014 10:00 a.m.

Where: Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex
Cape Canaveral

Take State Road 405 east to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, just west of the KSC badging station, and turn right onto the entry roadway. Turn right at the traffic signal immediately after the entry and check in at the security post. Security will direct media to park in the administration parking lot. Then check in for a media escort to the event.

Media should arrive by 9:30 a.m. to be escorted by KSCVC PR. If you plan to attend, please reply to by 5 p.m. today to be included on the media RSVP list submitted to Kennedy Space Center security.
