Commissioner of Education Applauds Miami-Dade Agreement on Teacher Raises

~ Local school leaders work together to honor Governor Scott's commitment to reward educators for their hard work ~

Tallahassee, Fla., October 31, 2013 - Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart today praised the Miami-Dade School Board and local education officials in reaching an agreement on the teachers raises promised by Governor Scott. The governor pledged $480 million earlier this year to reward teachers for improving student academic performance.

"I am pleased that Miami-Dade teachers will receive the pay increase Governor Rick Scott championed early this year," said Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart. "This $480 million dollar investment reaffirms the governor's commitment to raising student achievement and rewarding our front-line leaders in the classroom."
