Florida Education Foundation Launches New Website~ Redesigned online tool showcases business partners ~
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Education Foundation (FEF) recently launched a redesigned and retooled website providing enhanced functionality and easier access to available programs. The FEF website, located at www.floridaeducationfoundation.org, features a variety of foundation initiatives that support academic excellence in Florida and highlights the many partners in education who support public education throughout the Sunshine State.
"We are pleased that the new website vividly illustrates private sector engagement in public education and also showcases the valuable work done by the Florida Education Foundation," said Alan J. Levy, Chairman of the FEF Board of Directors.
As a Florida Department of Education direct-support organization, the Foundation encourages collaboration among parents, business people, community members and Florida's public schools to improve student performance. From educational initiatives such as the Commissioner's Business Recognition Awards, District Data Leader of the Year Awards, Florida Future Educators of America, Just Read, Florida!, and Teacher of the Year, the Foundation has long supported Florida's efforts to improve the educational outcomes of all children.
Another key program launched by the FEF was Sunshine State Scholars, where top Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) juniors from each school district were honored as Blue Chip scholars. The students were provided with direct access to Florida's university and college recruiters to discuss postsecondary opportunities and reasons why their talents and knowledge would bring them the greatest success if kept in Florida. The revamped website includes a comprehensive look at the program along with a photo gallery that recognizes each of the Scholars.
The Foundation also reminds public school teachers that the discount for the Blue Man Group ends on June 29. Learn more at http://www.floridaeducationfoundation.org/.
