Florida Education Foundation Partners with Universal Orlando Resort® to Thank Florida Teachers

~ Blue Man Group tickets offered to teachers at special discount price ~

TALLAHASSEE – As a way of saying ‘Thank You’ to Florida’s public school teachers, the Florida Education Foundation in partnership with Universal Orlando Resort®, is offering special discounted tickets to Blue Man Group performances from May 23 – June 26, 2011. Blue Man Group entertains and engages audiences with their unique combination of boisterous comedy, energetic music, dazzling multimedia and stunning theatrics performed live in a playful party atmosphere.

“Since our inception, Blue Man Group has endeavored to inspire creativity in both our audiences and in ourselves. We strive to speak “up” to the intelligence of our audience members while reaching “in” to their childlike innocence and innate joy of learning,” says Blue Man Group at Universal Orlando Resort General Manager Ola Wawryn, “We have tremendous respect for the Florida educators who accomplish similar goals on a daily basis, and believe the value of inspired teaching can not be overstated. It is our pleasure to invite these educators to our performance.”

Educators can purchase up to four Blue Man Group adult tickets for the discounted rate of $34 plus tax, and children’s tickets (ages 3-9) for $25 plus tax. For every adult ticket purchased, $2 will be donated to the Florida Education Foundation.

“We are absolutely thrilled to share this partnership with Universal Orlando Resort® and Blue Man Group,” said Florida Education Foundation Board of Directors Chairman Alan J. Levy. “Universal’s support benefits both Florida teachers and the statewide initiatives of the Foundation.”

To take advantage of this exceptional opportunity, educators should visit the Just for Teachers website at www.fldoe.org/justforteachers to fill out the registration form. After completing the registration process, they can download and print their ticket coupon that allows them to purchase tickets by contacting the Blue Man Group Box Office at (407) BLUEMAN (258-3626) or by visiting the box office and identifying themselves as a Florida educator.

To pick up their tickets from Will Call on the day of the show performance, teachers must present the following: the ticket coupon printed after they completed the registration process; a matching valid photo ID; and proof of employment which includes a valid Florida public school-issued ID badge, a recent Florida public school paycheck stub which includes their name and the name of the school and district or an approved public school employment letter.
