Department of Education Announces New Monthly Contest for Teachers~ $100 gift certificate from Chick-fil-a featured as contest’s first prize ~
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of Education today announced the creation of Teacher Treasures, a new monthly contest designed to honor Florida’s dedicated teachers and their efforts to help every student succeed. The contest’s first “treasure” features a $100 gift certificate from Chick-fil-a. The gift, redeemable at any Chick-fil-a, was donated by the Tallahassee Mall location.
“Our teachers are Florida’s treasures. This effort is just a small way to say, ‘thank you’ for all you do,” said Education Commissioner Dr. Eric J. Smith. “I commend Chick-fil-a for being the contest’s first sponsor and for joining me in praising the excellent work these dedicated professionals do each and every day on behalf of children.”
The Teacher Treasures contest is being offered through the Department of Education’s Just for Teachers website. Teachers are eligible to enter once each month for the chance to win prizes and gift certificates from school supply stores and restaurants.
The entry form is only available online, with the application period for each drawing beginning the first of the month. The actual drawing will take place on the last Thursday of the month. Winners will be notified and will be given the opportunity to be featured in the Department’s Just for Teachers newsletter which is e-mailed monthly to more than 160,000 educators across the state.
Through the Just for Teachers website, educators across the state have an opportunity to enjoy numerous discounts or reduced rates on any number of items and services. Educators should be on the lookout for the Department’s monthly statewide newsletter that includes important education news as well as an updated list of available discounts and offers.
