Education Commissioner Smith to Visit Escambia County School DistrictFlorida Education Commissioner Dr. Eric J. Smith will visit with officials from Escambia County School District tomorrow to discuss the unique hardships they are currently facing due to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This is the first of several visits with Panhandle school districts over the next two days to gather information and determine the types of assistance the Florida Department of Education can provide.
The visit will take place:

Note: Commissioner Smith will be available to answer media questions at approximately 3:00 p.m., following the conclusion of his visit with district officials.
