Education Commissioner Smith to Attend Teacher of the Year Awards Ceremony

Education Commissioner Dr. Eric J. Smith will announce the Florida Department of Education/Macy’s 2011 Teacher of the Year tomorrow night in Orlando.

The announcement ceremony will take place:

Thursday, July 8, 2010
6:30 p.m.
Hard Rock Live! at Universal Studios CityWalk
Orlando

The five finalists for the award are:

Allan Phipps, South Plantation High School, Broward County
Cheryl Conley, Osceola Magnet Elementary School, Indian River County
Cristine O'Hara, Palmetto Middle School, Miami-Dade County
Kelly Burnette, Yulee High School, Nassau County
Zachary Champagne, Mandarin Oaks Elementary School, Duval County
