College of Central Florida Student Wins FACTS.org 10th Anniversary Laptop~ Todd Reiland awarded prize for communicating how FACTS.org helped him achieve his educational goals ~
TALLAHASSEE – Florida College System Chancellor Dr. Will Holcombe today announced Todd Reiland, a student at the College of Central Florida (formerly Central Florida Community College), as the winner of the FACTS.org 10th Anniversary Laptop Contest. Todd was presented with the laptop, donated by The Florida College System Foundation, at a reception hosted by Central Florida Vice President Dr. Vernon Lawter earlier this week.
“Online resources, like FACTS.org, are essential for helping students navigate their educational futures,” said Chancellor Holcombe. “Todd’s win further reminds us that these tools can help assist Florida’s tech-savvy generation by providing them with advice and guidance online.”
In celebration of their 10th anniversary, FACTS.org asked students to submit photos, stories, quotes, and videos about how FACTS.org has helped them achieve their educational goals. The winning name was chosen at random.
“It’s encouraging to see our students making use of the valuable resources available at FACTS.org,” said Vice President Lawter. “Todd is a good student and an impressive young man, and he certainly deserves the recognition he received today from FACTS.org.”
FACTS.org provides education planning, access, and articulation information and tools to help students make informed choices about their education. Middle and high school students, college students, parents, guidance counselors, and college advisors use the services free of charge.
