The State Board of Education today set the minimum Readiness Rate for 2008-09 Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK) providers. The VPK Readiness Rates measure how well a private or public VPK provider prepared four-year-olds for kindergarten. The rate, set at 138, is based on the performance of VPK graduates on the statewide kindergarten screening that consists of a subset of the Early Childhood Observation System (ECHOS™) and the first two measures of the Florida Assessments for Instruction in Reading (FAIR).
Parents can find out more about the performance of a specific VPK provider by visiting https://vpk.fldoe.org/Default2.aspx.
