Education Commissioner Smith To Attend Teacher of the Year Awards Ceremony

Education Commissioner Dr. Eric J. Smith will announce the Florida Department of Education/Macy’s 2010 Teacher of the Year tomorrow night in Orlando.

The five finalists for the award are:

• Patricia Fairclough, Air Base Elementary School, Dade County
• Megan Allen, Cleveland Elementary School, Hillsborough County
• Emily Barbacci, Lawton Chiles High School, Leon County
• Melissa Reiker, Apopka High School, Orange County
• Marilynn Pedek, Suncoast Community High School, Palm Beach County

The Florida Department of Education/Macy’s 2010 Teacher of the Year Gala will be held: Thursday, July 9, 2009
6:30 p.m.
Hard Rock Live! at Universal Studios CityWalk
Orlando
