Florida Celebrates First Ever Literacy Week

Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp and Commissioner of Education Eric J. Smith today will kick off Florida’s first-ever Celebrate Literacy Week. Throughout the week of January 12-16, several events will take place aimed at promoting literacy by raising awareness of the programs and projects offered by the Department of Education and its partner agencies and organizations. Literacy Week promotes the enjoyment of reading for children and adults of all ages.
