Department of Education Holds Third Annual Connections Conference
The Florida Department of Education, in conjunction with the Lumina Foundation for Education, tomorrow will kick-off the Third Annual Connections Conference in Ft. Lauderdale. The Connections Conference brings together community college representatives and other stakeholders to learn new methods and share existing strategies that help under-prepared students gain access to, and succeed in, a postsecondary education environment.
The primary theme of the conference is improving student success through the use of data with a focus on student groups that traditionally face significant barriers to success, including minority and low-income students.
More than 150 participants from 22 community colleges and one private college are scheduled to attend the conference this year. Keynote speakers for the conference include Dr. Robert H. McCabe, Executive Director of the National Alliance of Community and Technical Colleges and Dr. Mark David Milliron, President and CEO of Catalyze Learning International.
The conference will take place:
May 14 - 16, 2008
Gallery One Hotel
2670 East Sunrise Boulevard
Ft. Lauderdale
