Department of Education to Hold K-12 Conference and Innovation Fair
The Department of Education and the Florida Education Foundation will co-host the 2007 K-12 Conference and Innovation Fair beginning on Tuesday in Orlando. The conference will focus on new approaches to improving student achievement, redesigning teacher compensation, and innovative secondary public school career, collegiate and magnet academies. Of particular interest will be the Innovation Fair on Wednesday, October 3 featuring model programs and academies at 46 schools from 18 districts.
The K-12 Conference and Innovation Fair will be held:

Opening General Session

Title I School Recognition
Twelve of Florida’s Title I schools will be recognized for their success in raising student achievement
2007 Turnaround Principal Recognition
Recognition of 57 school principals who have improved their school grade at least two letter grades in one year
Thursday, October 4:
General Session and Keynote Address by Dr. Theodore Hershberg
Red Ribbon Certified Schools Recognition
Recognition of schools for their dedication to year-round substance use prevention and the health and academic achievement of their students
Friday, October 5
Closing General Session and Keynote address by Coach Ken Carter
