Just Read, Florida! Celebrates Hazardous Awareness Week (Ocala)
OCALA - In recognition of Hazardous Weather Awareness Week, local officials tomorrow will read to students at Madison Street Academy of Visual and Performing Arts School in Ocala. There will also be a tour of emergency vehicles on the campus.
The schedule for tomorrow’s event includes:
8:45 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. Emergency Vehicle Tours located at the Southside Parking Lot
Attending Vehicles:
Ocala Fire Department Fire Truck
Ambulance
County Fire, Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) and Hazardous Materials vehicle
Marion County Public School Bus to illustrate evacuation of handicapped citizens
Marion County Public School Technical Services Truck and 200KW generator
Florida Highway Patrol standard vehicle
National Guard Hummer High Wheel vehicle
State Emergency Command Vehicle
8:45 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. Lecture by the National Weather Service located in the cafeteria
12:45 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Guest Readers located in the classrooms
