Department of Education to Hold Media Briefing to Discuss Approval of High School Major Areas of Interest List

The Department of Education will hold a media briefing Monday via conference call to discuss the release of the approved major areas of interest for high school students. As part of the A++ Plan for Education and beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, high school students will select a major area of interest as part of their high school coursework.

Participating in the call will be:

  • Florida Education Commissioner John L. Winn
  • K-12 Public Schools Chancellor Cheri Pierson Yecke, Ph.D.
  • K-12 Deputy Chancellor for Student Achievement Mary Jane Tappen

The media briefing via conference call will be held:
