TALLAHASSEE Education Commissioner John L. Winn today announced the top high-performing schools in Florida for outstanding academic achievement. High-performing schools were recognized for earning the highest points based on Florida's school grading criteria.
"I commend these schools for the remarkable job of helping students improve their core academic skills," said Commissioner Winn. "This accomplishment increasing student achievement is one Florida's administrators, teachers, students and parents should take pride in."
The top high-performing 100 elementary schools, 75 middle schools, 50 high schools and 50 combination schools were honored based on the total points the school received on the school grading criteria during the 2005-2006 academic year.
