Commissioner Winn to Visit Florida Orientation and Adjustment Center for the Blind
Commissioner to request $6.435 million to rebuild facility
DAYTONA BEACH Education Commissioner John L. Winn today will visit the Florida Orientation and Adjustment Center for the Blind in Daytona Beach. Commissioner Winn will ask the Florida State Board of Education to include in their budget recommendations to the Governor and the Florida Legislature $6.435 million in funding to rebuild the facility.
"This program helps the blind realize their goals for independence," said Commissioner Winn. "By rebuilding this facility, we can serve more people by reducing their time within the program by immersing them in an environment to develop independent living skills."
