Chancellor Yecke and Antwone Fisher to Visit Osceola Reading Academy

CELEBRATION — K-12 Public Schools Chancellor Cheri Pierson Yecke and Antwone Fisher, noted author and screenwriter, tomorrow will visit the Osceola County K-3 Reading Academy at Stetson University @ Celebration. The Academy focuses on providing early reading instructional strategies for teachers of kindergarten through grade three students.

Fisher is in Orlando to attend the 5th Annual Just Read, Florida! Leadership Conference which begins today at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in Lake Buena Vista. He will share his personal struggle about learning to read and the importance of literacy during the opening session beginning at 1:00 p.m. The conference includes more than 300 concurrent sessions on reading education and best practices.
